SUMMARY:Trail Ride - Barneston NE to Marysville KS
DESCRIPTION:Ride with GPBC on the scenic Chief Standing Bear (NE) and Blue River (KS) rail trails from Barneston to Marysville and return\, about 33 miles round trip. Most of the trail is tree-lined and follows the Blue River south into Kansas.  We plan to stop for lunch in Marysville at the El Ranchero restaurant. To get to Barneston from Lincoln head south on U.S. 77 past Beatrice\, Blue Springs\, and Wymore. Turn left (east) on Hwy 8 to Barneston. The trailhead is on the north side of Hwy 8 on the south edge of Barneston.  Meet at the trailhead for a 10:00 am start. Moderate pace (10-12 mph). Paved road options include distances of 20\, 30 and 60 miles. All paved options include fully supported rest stops and roving support. \nWe also offer a 50 mile gravel option over rolling hills and minimum maintenance roads. The gravel option includes two rest stops\, but no roving support. \nEntries processed prior to August 8\, 2025 at 11:59 pm include a t-shirt. Entries after that date/time (including on the day of the event) do not include a t-shirt. \nCheck-In Details: Saturday morning (8/16/25) from 7:00-7:45 am at the Highland Park shelter (behind the Hastings Museum at 14th & Burlington). Everyone must check-in to pick up their rider packet and the t-shirt provided to participants who registered on or prior to August 8\, 2025. \nStart Time: Saturday morning (8/16/25) at 8:00 am from the parking lot behind the Hastings Museum. DESCRIPTION:Ice cream ride from the Lincoln Children’s Zoo to Dairy Queen at 16th & Old Cheney. Meet at the Zoo parking lot on the south side of A Street\, next to the Rock Island Trail\, at 2:00 pm. Ride to Dairy Queen via the Rock Island (4 mi). This is all paved trail and will be a slow ride. So kids are welcome!!
